Leona Louise Lewis was born 3 April 1985, is an actress musician, activist, and singer who hails from Britain. Born and raised in Islington, a part of the London Borough of Islington, she attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis was able to gain national attention when she won The X Factor's third series in the year 2006. She also received the PS1 Million recording contract from Syco Music. Her winner's single, the cover version of Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This", peaked at #1 for four weeks on UK Singles Chart and broke the world record for 50,000 digital downloads within thirty minutes. Clive Davis's label, J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums in the United States. Lewis's successes continued when she dropped her debut album Spirit (2007). The album has been certified as platinum by the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album of 2000s. Spirit is, as per Official Charts Company is the 21st Century's most-sold debut album by a female artist. "Bleeding Love" is the single that was released as the album's lead track of Spirit, remained number one in the UK for seven weeks. It was also the UK's best-selling single. Also, it was the biggest-sold single sold in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award next year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. She also wrote the hit song "I Love You" to accompany Avatar. Lewis has also released "Collide," a joint project together with Swedish DJ Avicii. The year 2011 saw her also dropped Hurt, the extended play on her EP debut. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis the release of her three studio albums. This was Lewis' first venture into electronic dance music and dubstep. The singer began recording material to her first Christmas album in the course of her Glassheart Tour, which took between mid-2013. The following year, her Christmas with Love, which featured the single that was released as the album's lead track "One more sleep", reached number three in the UK. Lewis was a British solo female artist was the first artist to make it into the top five with eight songs. The record is higher than Olivia Newton John's record which had seven.
