Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. Her parents include Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier who are both news director on television. She was raised and birthed in Huntington Woods Michigan. Her family ancestry includes Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish as well as Scottish (father). Kristen was already a skilled entertainer in the early stages. She was cast in the role of Raggedy Ann in 1992 after attending her first audition. Bell aged 13 when her mother signed to become an agent was also cast in ads on newspapers and TV. In addition, Bell started taking private acting classes. Bell was credited as a character in the movie Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was part of the drama and musical clubs at Shrine Catholic High School. Bell was chosen to play the lead role as Dorothy in the school's play The Wizard of Oz. Bell attended The Tisch School of the Arts which she attended to study Musical Theater at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. In 2001, Bell quit her university in order to perform the part in the role of Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. In 2001, Bell made her first credit debut playing the character of Becky Pootie Tang. But, her scene was cut out of the movie and her appearance was only as a credit. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell appeared on the Broadway revival of The Crucible with Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
