Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written music that tackled topics like race and sexuality. Later, she broadened her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Alongside classical music and jazz, she began studying hip-hop in her teens. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing for a time. After graduating, she began to focus on music. The track My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a viral hit via the Internet and later appeared on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. This track was directly linked with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in 2015. Her resume contained both an musicians and an author. The singer was seeking to further her career in acting. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018, her breakout roles included Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
